Midwest Quality Home Care, Inc. provides a wide variety of non-medical in home care services and duties, including:

Personal Care Assistance

What are Personal Care Assistants (PCAs)?

  • PCAs are individuals that are hired and trained to help client’s with their Activities of Daily Living; including but not limited to, transferring, repositioning in bed, eating, toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, etc.
  • Under the direction of a Qualified Professional; Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) follow a specific plan of care assessed by a Public Health Nurse.
  • PCAs will observe, redirect, and document changes in the health and behavior of a client.

Who can be a Personal Care Assistant?

  • An individual that has been hired and trained by a qualified home care provider.
  • A PCA can be a family member or friend of the client receiving services, but MUST complete necessary background screenings, and must undergo the hiring process of qualified home care provider.

245D Licensed Services are based on new Minnesota Statute’s which went into effect starting January 1, 2014. As a licensed provider, Midwest Quality Home Care, Inc. is required to follow Chapter 245D policies and procedures for our Home and Community Based Services. These are licensed services which need additional regulations and oversight requirements which are intended to improve the quality of health and promote independence of the clients receiving these services.

Homemaker/Companion Services

It is providing help at home for the Elderly and Disabled Adults.

As we age, many simple daily household activities and chores become significantly more difficult to complete within our own capabilities and independence. Homemaker Care ensures that obstacles that can cause falls are eliminated, clean clothes are always available, fresh food is always provided, and that medications are picked up. They can help you go shopping and assist you in socializing in your community.

Who can be a Homemaker?

An individual that has been hired and trained by a qualified home care provider can be a Homemaker care provider.

Respite Care

This program is available to individuals of all ages who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities, physical limitations, emotional or behavioral disorders, or a combination of conditions.

Respite care services give you time to leave the home for a few hours or even a few days, knowing the one you care for is in good hands. This creates time to:

  • take care of the errands you never seem to have time for
  • catch up on your shopping
  • attend a support group meeting
  • visit doctor or dentist for routine care
  • give yourself a much-needed rest

In-Home Family Support

In-Home Family Supports (IHFS) help people with developmental disabilities live in the community more independently. It is available through the Developmental Disabilities (DD) waiver.

Training services are provided in the person’s home and in the community, with the goal to maintain or increase the person’s physical, mental, emotional, and social functioning.

  • Independent Living Skills Training
  • In-home Family Support
  • Individualized Home Support

Personal Support

Personal Support is a Developmental Disability (DD) waiver service for non-medical care, supervision and assistance. It is provided in the home of the person with a developmental disability or in the community to achieve increased independence. Personal Support provides direct help rather than training.

The person may use personal support to access community services and participate in integrated community activities.
